I can't help but to be angry and scared and hateful. I'm doing what most humans feel that they have to do; react.
I hear what some of you are saying; maybe the US brought it upon us. Maybe you're right.
But can you really say that to the family members who gather around a TV and watch over and over again as a man flings himself from the WTC in terror, in confusion?
I heard one person say that violence begets violence. That is true.
So please inform me ... what violent action did we take against these people to warrant this maniacal attack?
The US is not totally innocent, I think. I tend to look at the United States as a child who means well but succumbs to the temptation of stealing shinier toys from the other children in that tiny sandbox we call Earth.
But what happened is unforgivable. The violence here and everywhere must come to an end now, one way or another. And whether worse comes to worse and we go to war, afterwards, we must come together and put the anger behind us.
For now, we must stand united and agree to find those responsible and bring them to justice. All those who have been touched by violence must join and say that they will not let it happen again. We will not let the idea that the United States is the Great Satan be the reason to slaughter innocent citizens in a most despicable way. We must come together and end the hatred and the racial barriers fall. We cannot let fear be the obstacle to true world peace. We cannot force ideas onto others, but show them the way to true happiness and peace.
Only when we do this can we all be Human.

The United States keeps it's citizens sheltered from it's gross violations of human rights in the name of industry and economic progress abroad. I have friends and my family has friends that are STILL UNACCOUNTED FOR. I can't reach my friend Tava, and my mother knows people that are still unaccounted for. We (the US) are not childern led easily into temptation. That is an over-simplified analogy, I'm sorry, but it is. At this time, such simplifications and assumptions are very dangerous. Our country, via military actions, (police actions, to make them sound benign) has hurt many innocent people. Our actions in Hati, the Middle Eastern countries and our exploitation of China as well as parts of the Pacific Islands have not gone unnoticed by the rest of the world. We are not "the protectors of the free world." This was not an attack on democracy, but an attack on our current exploitative model of capitalism. Nobody deserved to die in those planes or in those buildings. That is not what I was saying. THEY were innocent. OUR GOVERNMENT is not. Our government supports ruthless dictators and that oppress and exploit their own people in the name of indusrty. There are reasons why the World Trade Centers (World Trade Organization ring a bell- the one those human rights activists keep protesting?) and the Pentagon (our wrongheaded military actions, motivated by profit, not liberty and freedom) were targeted. Our country blew up a pharmaceuticals building that made medicine for many lower income people a few years ago in Sudan, I believe it was. Officially, it was called an accident, but it seems to have been a deliberate, ruthless stratgey. As I type this, yet another building has fallen down. The horizon is still enveloped in that strange bronze smoke, and all of downtown New York is a ghost town. I am very upset by all of this, and worried about everybody, but this was NOT an unprovoked attack. We did nothing to deserve it, but OUR GOVERNMENT HAS. We are kept so sheltered from it's functions and processes and activities, and now we are all in shock, wondering why anybody would attack us. Believe me, the US has a lot of enemies, make no mistake abouit it. I truly hope there is not war. All the leaders will hide out in shelters, they and their loved ones kept safe, while we plebians will fight their battles, and spill our common blood for reasons beyond us. Enough. I am tired of the blood of innocent people. I am tired of the ignorance of the American public. We need to be educated, and we really need to look at our foreign policies. These acts were perpetrated by HUMAN BEINGS, people just like us. IMAGINE what it would take for you to do something so desperate and violent and elaborate. To sacrifice not only your own life, but the lives of many who were but cogs in a machine they did not participate in with any cognizance. Something is very wrong with the world. More destruction will not fix it.

Glad to hear that my fellow elficionados are allright, and that it seems that Nightcrawler fans really are rational people. Some of the comic fans and football fans at the boards I frequent are screaming for blood. They really don't care who it is, they just want an enemy, they want someone to blame. Many are screaming for Palestinian blood, and they are most likely uninvolved. It just drives me crazy how truly ignorant and intolerant people still are.

And the United States isn't innocent. It hasn't been innocent since it's inception. The history books only tell the half truth, an American tradition that the modern media are all too happy to continue. A lot of the world hates us, mostly because we look out for our own interests. Very little of our aid to other nations is a peace keeping gesture, most is either to cover our political asses (Israel) or to cover our financial asses (all other middle eastern conflicts, and many others) We have really looked out for ourselves and very little else, and the people on the shitty end of that stick are angry.

Now I fear that we will go to war, not to try to "correct" this wrong, but because the leaders of this country are looking out for thei own butts. I don't think that they are concerned as much with the world looking at us as cowards (which they wont, unless they already do) as they are worried about the "American public" thinking that they, personally, are cowards. I hear and see people all over the country already trying to provoke Bush into action. I saw one person on the news say "I just hope that we have a president like Regan or Truman. Someone with the balls to go all out and get our revenge for this." I just hope that this isn't what is percieved as the American attitude after this catastrophe.

As for personal recovery for all of you, I highly recommend my preferred method of therapy: A journal. I started it in the wake of the breakup with my girlfriend of 3 years, and I continue it as a record of my thoughts and above all, a way of working through them. It's an online journal, which makes it low maintenence and I suggest that if you're looking for any kind of outlet, this is the way to go.

First off, these terrorists are nothing but cowards. It does not take bravery to sow the seeds of fear and hatred. It does not take bravery to mass murder thousands of innocent civilians. And it does not take a brave man to impersonally target an area filled with daycare centers and working men and women whose screams the terrorists cannot hear and whose pain they can?t see. I cannot help but think that the terrorists are running scared. They believed that they could cow the United States, forcing us into chaos. And they did.
But they also created a sense of community. They fostered a feeling of common society that transcended race and religion as people pulled together to face down this horrific event. Even here in Cincinnati, people have flooded to the Hoxworth Blood Center with offers to give blood to be shipped to New York. People want to donate money, and many churches are offering prayer services for those involved. It was a profound moment last evening as my family went to BW3?s to eat dinner. The entire establishment fell silent as President Bush began to speak. When he vowed that we would hunt down and punish those who committed these acts one man yelled out, ?Hell, YEAH!? and the rest of the diners burst into cheers.
The images broadcast on the television were sickening. I?m afraid and angry. Angry that our feeling of security has been forcibly ripped from us. Angry that so many precious lives have been lost. And angry that I am afraid. My father is a pilot for Delta, and he was lucky that he wasn?t scheduled to work until afternoon. He?s home, safe, until tomorrow. We hope that when he reports for work tomorrow he continues to be safe. But too many people haven?t been so lucky, losing friends, parents, children and spouses to a fearful death. So I send out a prayer for those who are in pain, for those who are now alone and missing loved ones, and for those who aren?t in pain anymore. And I pray for answers.

This is what we know now. Two planes smashed into both towers. One plane crashed into the Pentagon. One plane crashed in a field. The planes that crashed into the WTC were successful. The plane that crashed into the Pentagon was originally meant to kill the President and destroy the White House. Now the plane that crashed into the field...
A man called his wife from the plane to tell her what was happening. They confrenced the call with a 911 operator. That is when he learned of the other kamikaze like attacks. That man told the other passengers what was going on and what was going to happen. They willingly chose to die in order to keep from being used as a weapon.
Also. A bomb was found on the Washington Bridge before it went off killing untold thousands trying to get home. An attack against Air Force One failed to work; details unrevealed.
Out of all the carnage the terrorist/monsters only succeeded once. Only ONE goal was accomplished. We were very lucky yesterday people, our entire nation was almost crippled by a dozen people who were willing to die to accomplish their goals armed with one inch razor blades, and it may have been saved by one man who learned about the WTC and the people who followed him into death.
Now the truly sad part. We are all at war. This is just the beginning. The next attack can be anywhere at anytime and kill anybody. It is time to unite and stand firm. To put all, ALL, differences behind. If we do not stand together now and forever this can be the beginning of the end of the United States of America. I actually heard people talking today where I work about moving their kids to Canada to keep them away from the draft just in case it comes back. They were ready to jump ship now, at the very begging of the coming conflict.
I am ready to die like that man, giving my life so that our freedom stays intact. I am a natural cynic, but I do believe in the overall inner strength of Americans.
Jeremy Glick, the man who died to prevent the terrorists from killing even more people, should never be forgotten.

Also, nation wide people who have ancestry from the Middle East, or only happen to have a dark complexion, are being harassed and attacked by frightened fools. These are our brothers and sisters who have been in this country for generations. Most have a deeper respect for our rights then those of us who consider ourselves ?real? Americans because they know what it is like to have no freedom. This is what the bastards wanted. If we are to survive that means that this type of atrocity has to stop immediately. I call on all of you who read this to speak up publicly and openly against all of those you see submitting to fear and ignorance. We will be harassed also, and we may be physically attacked, but we have to do everything that we can to stop this degeneration of our society IMEDIATELY! No matter the place, no matter the circumstance, no matter the person. The situation is too fragile now and evil spreads when good people do nothing.
